“And the LORD God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. “
Genesis 2:15-17
God expressly warned Adam and Eve that they would surely die if they ate from the ‘tree of knowledge of good and evil’.
“And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:”
Genesis 3:4
“that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan“
Revelation 12:9
“And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.”
Genesis 3:6
Satan’s first great deception was to tell Adam and Eve that they would surely not die. Adam and Eve were both disobedient to God by eating of the fruit from the forbidden tree. Through the ages the devil performed mighty miracles through people who claim to derive their power from the spirits of the dead.
Examples of this in the Bible:
Magicians in Egypt – Exodus 7:11;
Medium in Endor – 1 Samuel 28:3-25;
Magicians – Daniel 2:2;
At the time of the end, Satan will use miracles again, just like in biblical times, to deceive the world. (Revelation 18:23)
Satan and his angels are going to appear as a supernatural agency that boasts that the power and wisdom they receive, is that of dead spirits. These spirits can be disguised as believing loved ones or biblical prophets, or even as apostles or disciples of Jesus who have died (2 Corinthians 1:13). In this way, billions of people will be deceived by this.
Those who believe that the dead live in any form are definitely going to be deceived.
As a result of their transgression by listening to the devil and eating of the fruit, the following judgment has now been pronounced upon man.
“In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”
Genesis 3:19
God now promised Adam that as a result of his sin, he will return to the earth/dust—in other words, die.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 6:23
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned”
Romans 5:12
“And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever!”
Genesis 3:22
“Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.”
Genesis 3:23
“So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.”
Genesis 3:24
God prohibited man’s access to the tree of life and the ultimate result was death. Man could not charge his “battery” anymore. Also, the decline in the world and bad health habits depleted the “battery” more rapidly.
